MY LIFE

by Joseph E. Mahabir

My life is in Christ, I will not despair.

My strength is in Christ, I will not grow weary.

My faith is in Christ, I will not give up.

My trust is in Christ, He will direct my paths.

My eternity is in Christ, I will live with him forever.

For the Love of Me

He suffered the agonizing slash of the whip,

As the flesh hung from shoulders back and hip.

Enduring the relentless pummeling of rod;

Continually mocked and prod,

A thorny crown pressed upon His head,

Not yet dead.

Hung upon a tree;  fastened by nails through wrists and feet,

His death now nearly complete.

Lastly by lance His side was gore,

To testify the Son of Man; Jesus was no more.

A life short lived that was destined to be,

By my Father in heaven; in all love for me.

Beacon of Hope

Amid the void and darkness of life,

There cometh a brilliant glow of light.

A man as pure as the whiteness of a dove,

It is the Son of glory from heaven above.

He is as the towering house upon the shore,

Guiding souls along the foot path to His door.

Much more than a glimmer of love and hope,

He is a beacon of all certainty in breadth and scope.

Cutting through life’s darkness as a double-edged knife,

He is truly “The way, the Truth and the Life”.

All those that follow this grace saving beam,

Will come to rejoice Him in glorious esteem.

A Psalm of Salvation

My sweet Jesus at your feet I kneel,

By your blood I do heal.

For by your death I was given life,

Freeing me of sins condemning strife.

No longer a broken soul;

For your suffering has made it whole.

I walk now upon the path illuminated by your light,

Although still in this world;  from evil I no longer take fright.

With great joy my heart thus sings,

 Praise and glory for all these things.

I have ears that now hear,

And eyes that truly do see,

My loving Lord you have set my spirit free;

 To one day live in your Father’s Kingdom with Thee.
